Why the KegelMaster
2000 vaginal exerciser?
The
Kegelmaster is a special product
for women that adds resistance to Kegel exercises. Kegels are done by
women before and after childbirth, or who suffer from medical conditions
like incontinence or prolapse. Although Kegel exercises have been done for years, they
are simply not as effective without added resistance. The Kegelmaster adds
dynamic progressive resistance
to Kegel exercises to strengthen the vaginal area muscles rapidly and
effectively.
To discover the many benefits of using the
Kegelmaster, please browse our web site and read any information that may
answer your questions regarding our product. See Why
the KegelMaster.
Who can benefit from
the Kegel Master 2000 Exercise Device?
Practically every
woman. Women who have had childbirth and/or are beginning to experience the
signs of aging are especially prone to incontinence and intimacy
challenges. Pregnant women are often advised to do Kegel
exercises (though they should check with their doctor before using the
KegelMaster) as strong Kegel muscles aids in the childbirth process.
Strong pelvic floor muscles
are also important to general health, since these are the muscles that hold
many internal organs in place - something important to every woman.
Who should not use the
KegelMaster?
- Do not use the KegelMaster if you have any
vaginal infections or STD
- Do not use the KegelMaster during
the six weeks following childbirth
- Do not use it for at least six weeks
after any genitourinary or pelvic surgical procedure
- Do not use while also using another
intravaginal product (tampon, diaphragm, pessary, etc.)
- Pregnant women should consult their
doctor prior to use.
- Women with a history of urinary tract
infections should check with their doctor prior to use.

How does the KegelMaster
2000 work?
The KegelMaster 2000
is comparable to a piece of exercise equipment found at a local gym. It
allows exercise of a localized area in the pelvic region, which up until now
women have not been able to properly exercise. The best suggestion we could
offer is to look at The KegelMaster 2000 and approach it as carefully as
any piece of exercise equipment. There must be a full extension (opening) of
the vaginal muscles with a full contraction (closing) to get maximum
muscular development in the vaginal area.
The KegelMaster 2000
must put enough pressure on the vaginal muscles to cause a slight pressure
when opened (this is the extension). The spring tension creates
resistance on the muscle much in the same way as choosing the proper amount
of weight on any exercise machine would.
The KegelMaster
helps women isolate the correct muscles in two ways. First, the shape
is designed to "fit" or slide into place when it is in the correct
position. Second, when a woman is able to close the KegelMaster, she
knows she is using the correct muscles.
What will the Kegel
Master 2000 Exercise Device do for me?
Unlike doing Kegel exercises on your own, the
KegelMaster helps women:
- Locate and isolate the pelvic floor muscle
- Know they are using the correct muscles by
providing feedback
- Utilize the benefits of progressive
resistance with its 15 resistance levels - see "About
Resistance". Progressive resistance produces faster
results.
The following conditions can be dramatically
improved and often corrected by strengthening pelvic floor muscles:
- Stress Urinary Incontinence
- Sexual Dysfunction and Dissatisfaction
- Uterine
Prolapse - a
descent or herniation of the uterus into or beyond the vagina
- Cystocele
- occurs when
the wall between a woman's bladder and her vagina weakens and lets
the bladder droop into the vagina
- Rectocele - a
bulging or herniation of part of the rectum into the vagina
- Provides significant easing of childbirth
as well as speeding up recovery
- Symptoms associated with atrophied vaginal
muscles - dryness and painful intercourse
- May prevent the need for surgery

What about competitive
products?
There are several products on the market
that, on the surface, appear similar to the KegelMaster, but there is no
other product that provides the same flexibility and quality.
The KegelMaster was the first product of
this type on the market. It was also the first to be patented.
The current model is the second generation KegelMaster - improving on an
already effective product. After the obvious success of the
KegelMaster, similar products began appearing on the market. They
say "imitation is the highest form of flattery", but don't be
misled. They are not the same.

here for our personal investigation, and click
here for a more in depth comparison.
Why is "resistance"
important?
Consider trying strengthening and toning
your arm muscles merely by squeezing them? How effective would that
be?
The KegelMaster offers women a safe and effective way to do Kegel
exercises with added resistance to rapidly produce stronger vaginal
muscles. Resistance is the key to effective Kegel exercises. If we use
weights at the gym, or at home to improve our bodies, then women should
seriously consider using progressive dynamic resistance when doing their
Kegel exercises.
The big thing is
that you focus on working the muscles. The most important concept in a
resistance training is PROGRESSION. To make changes in your body you must
continue to challenge the muscles by gradually but consistently increasing
the load placed on them. This is where one of the basic tenets of training
comes to light- the S.A.I.D. principle. The Specific Adaptation to Imposed
Demands principle means that your muscles will adapt only to the demands
placed on them. Therefore, for continued improvement, you need to place
ever increasing demands on your muscles. You can do this by adding an
extra repetition, increasing the resistance, or shortening the rest
intervals. All three of these techniques are examples of progression.
For More, see "About
Resistance".
How many levels of resistance does the Kegel Master Exercise Device have?
The KegelMaster has 15 levels of
resistance. These levels are accomplished by a combination of spring
placement and the number of springs used. See
"Resistance Settings".
Is the
KegelMaster
really safe to use in such a delicate area?
Yes! The Kegel
Master was designed with special precautions:
- All of the components of
the KegelMaster are made with rounded edges.
- The spring housing area
is enclosed.
- The KegelMaster is
designed so that it will not close completely, thereby eliminating the
potential for pinching.
Additionally, since the
KegelMaster was the first product of its kind, the makers have the time to
improve upon their own, already effective, design.
Keep in mind, however, that
this should be treated as you would exercise equipment - be sure to follow
the directions; when increasing the resistance levels - do so in the
manner directed (start with the lowest level and increase only one level
at a time).
What is a Kegel muscle and where is it?
In the mid-1940's a Los
Angeles doctor, Dr. Kegel, proved that over 90% of all women can cure
incontinence problems by strengthening the PC (puboccogeal) or pelvic
floor muscle.
Due to significance of Dr. Kegel's work, the PC muscle is now commonly
referred to as the Kegel muscle. It is one of a larger group of vaginal
muscles located near the pelvic floor.
These muscles stretch
from front to back, directly below the pelvis. The muscles provide support
for internal organs such as the urinary track, birth canal, urethra,
uterus and rectum.
Why don't more women do Kegel exercises?
Even though many experts urge women to do
Kegel exercises, studies indicate that few women do them. The
problem is that simple verbal instruction on how to do the exercises isn't
enough. Without feedback, women don't know if they are toning the muscles
correctly. It makes sense that women would get discouraged and
discontinue the Kegel exercises.
That's where the Kegel
Master exercise device comes in;
it provides the feedback women need to know they are exercising the
correct muscles.
Why not just do Kegel exercises on my own?
You certainly can do Kegel exercises on
your own. However, there are a few drawbacks to this:
- Many women have difficulty locating the
correct muscles. Exercising the incorrect muscles (though they
may be in the same general area) may actually cause the Kegel muscles
to become weaker as the body becomes more dependent on these other,
now stronger, muscles.
- Performing Kegel exercises without the
benefit of a resistance aid (and we believe the KegelMaster is the
best!) actually limits the benefits of the exercise. Studies
indicate that merely "squeezing" these muscles has only
moderate results. Doing Kegel exercises with the
benefit of a resistance device produces faster results.
- Resistance devices promote greater
strengthening and toning results.
- Using a vaginal exerciser with
resistance allows you to obtain optimal results in less time.

benefits of resistance,

What are the types of urinary incontinence?
Incontinence is the inability to control
urination (passage of urine). The types of urinary incontinence range from
intermittent urine leakage to the total lack of any ability to control
urine. There are several different types of incontinence.
Stress Incontinence:
This type of incontinence is due to the weakening of the pelvic floor
muscles (PC or Kegel muscles) which results in urine leakage from
coughing, sneezing, or some other form of stress. Stress
incontinence is often a result of childbirth or aging..
Urge Incontinence:
This is basically a condition in which the bladder muscle does not
operate correctly; it does not contract properly. Sufferers may
experience a sudden urge to urinate followed by an almost immediate
uncontrollable bladder contraction; with large amounts of urine being
lost during each episode.
Mixed Incontinence:
a combination of Stress and Urge incontinence
Overflow
Incontinence: People suffering from overflow
incontinence consistently deal with steady urine leakage, though they
don't feel the urge to urinate and their bladder never empties
completely.
What types of incontinence are treated
effectively with the Kegel Master Exercise Device?
The
Kegel Master is designed to help with the
treatment of Stress Incontinence. Many women claim this device has
CURED them of their Stress Incontinence.
Additionally,
the Kegel Master is effective in the treatment of Mixed Incontinence,
though each of the incontinence types that makeup "Mixed"
incontinence (Stress and Urge) should be appraised separately.
Many
women with Urge Incontinence report noticeable improvement with use of
the KegelMaster.
What other options are there to treat urinary
incontinence?
Prescription
drugs and surgery are often the course of action taken to treat
incontinence. (Currently, there is no drug that treats Stress
Incontinence). Surgery is typically about 83% effective with
20% of women reporting complications. Kegel exercises with the use
of a resistance aid are 87% effective in the treatment of Stress
Incontinence - without side effects!
Can the KegelMaster 2000 help with sexual
dysfunction?
Yes!
As Stress Incontinence is attributed to weak Kegel muscles, the lack of
satisfaction during intimacy is often due to those same weak
muscles.
When done
correctly, Kegel exercises:
-
Improves sensitivity,
which enhances sexual pleasure and response
-
Tightens vaginal muscles
which heightens sexual pleasure for your partner
- helps many women achieve a higher
level of sexual satisfaction than they ever have before
- effective even after a woman has had a
hysterectomy
- are effective for women of all ages.
For more information on
sexual dysfunction and the related benefits of the KegelMaster, click
here.
Does the Kegel Master Vaginal Exerciser really help with
childbirth? How?
Yes.
Strong PC (Kegel) muscles help during the delivery process by giving the
mother the ability to have greater control while pushing, and pushing more
efficiently.
What other conditions
are related to weak
pelvic floor (Kegel) muscles?
Toned
Kegel (pelvic floor) muscles are essential as they hold internal organs in
place. In addition to Stress Incontinence and sexual dysfunction, weak
pelvic floor muscles can lead to:
- Uterine
Prolapse - a
descent or herniation of the uterus into or beyond the vagina
- Cystocele
- occurs when
the wall between a woman's bladder and her vagina weakens and lets
the bladder droop into the vagina
- Rectocele - a
bulging or herniation of part of the rectum into the vagina
